Event Day Q&As

What is the entrance fee?
$25 for MSW Students. $30 for all other participants. Participants will receive a commemorative white blacklight glow in the dark race t-shirt, glow in the dark accessories (necklace, bracelet), race bib and timing chip (for 5k runners only), and admission to the blacklight race after party.

What time does the 5k start?
The 5k starts at 6:30 pm. Make sure you allot enough time to pick up your timing chip. Pre-race check-in is required for all runners and begins at 5:30 pm.

Can I walk instead of running?
Of course! The participants who choose to walk will use the sidewalks on the route and only be walking half the distance (2.5 K).

Can young children participate?
Absolutely! However, parents are required to accompany young children along the race route as the race is winding through the streets in Park Ridge.

Can children Second Grade and younger register for the race?
You bet! If your child wants a t-shirt like the big kids, just register him/her using the RunRace site. There are no awards for Second Grade and below, but the little ones can participate in all the fun! Please remember that young children need to be supervised by an adult especially when on the course.

What time does everything end?
Once you’ve crossed the finish line, head into Barry Gym for the after-party. There will be music, light refreshments and the award presentation up until 10:00 pm.

Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes! However, those pushing strollers are asked to use the sidewalks.

Is the race timed?
Yes, the race will be timed for those third graders and above who wish to run the 5k. Walkers will not be timed.

Are there awards?
Yes! There will be awards for the top finishing male/female in each grade, third through eighth grades. Awards will also be given to top finishing male/female age 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and above.

Where do I park?
Parking is available in Mary, Seat of Wisdom’s parking lot located East of Cumberland Ave. Street parking is also available on Cumberland and on side-streets not on or within the running route.

What if there is bad weather the night of the race?
