| | | | | | Race Information | | | Description: | | | | | ![[logo: Ice Age Trail 50]](images/logo/iceage50MK.gif "Ice Age Trail 50 : 99.9% Trail... 100% Ultra") The Ice Age Trail 50, which includes a 50-mile, 50K and 50K Relay, is one of America’s “classic” ultramarathons. Run mostly on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail in southeastern Wisconsin, the course takes runners on a tour of the unique geologic features left by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. Evergreen and deciduous forests, natural prairies, ponds, marshes and kettles are all part of this diverse and beautiful landscape. The terrain is variable – ranging from flat and grassy double-track to rock and root covered technical trails. Challenging for even the most seasoned ultrarunners (the 21-year old course record still stands) – and at the same time, a great introduction to the sport for first-timers.
