Description:
[logo: Ice Age Trail 50]The Ice Age Trail 50 is one of the oldest, continuously running ultras in the United States.

Held every year since 1982, the 50-mile and 50K courses follow the Ice Age National Scenic Trail through the Southern Kettle Moraine Forest, taking runners on a tour of the unique geologic features created by the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago. This diverse and beautiful landscape is known for its evergreen and deciduous forests, natural prairies, lakes, marshes, eskers and kettles. Rated 3/3 by Ultrarunning magazine, the terrain varies from wide, rolling trails to twisting, root and rock-covered single track. The Half Marathon is run on wooded cross country ski trails.

With plentiful aid stations, generous course markings and excellent volunteer support, the Ice Age 50 offers a great experience for both first time and veteran ultrarunners.

All three races sell out within hours, so runners are encouraged to sign-up when registration opens on Sunday, December 10, 2017. Registration for the 50-mile race opens at Noon CST; the 50K at 3:00 and the Half Marathon at 6:00 p.m.

EARLY REGISTRATION: Runners with nine or more IAT finishes (any combination of events) can take advantage of early registration on Saturday, December 2 from 1:00-3:00 CST on this site. Male and female top 10 overall finishes in any of the three 2017 races and participants in the 2018 Mash-Up Series can also register at this time. PLEASE wait until general registration if you do not meet these prerequisites. We will be checking entries and refunding fees.

The IAT50 is located about one hour southwest of Milwaukee, one hour southeast of Madison and 1.5-2 hours northwest of Chicago.

What your registration buys:

• Race Entry
• Commemorative tech t-shirt
• Special souvenir (changes every year). In 2017, all registered
runners received an Ice Age buff.
• Finisher's Award
• Wisconsin State Park day pass
• Catered BBQ Lunch
• A post-race party with live music and local microbrews

A portion of your entry fee will also be donated to the Ice Age Trail Alliance.

The Ice Age Trail 50 is sponsored by the Badgerland Striders, a local, not-for-profit running organization.
